We love having visitors at Cestari, and they are always welcome.
Our sales barn features our fine quality yarns, patterns and supplies for knitting and crocheting as well as traditional animal toys, quality sheepskin products and hand knit sweaters, caps and scarves.

You can take a tour of the mill and see how we spin our wool into our fine yarn, all right here in Churchville, Virginia.

Guided tours are available as follows (min. 10 people):
Book your date with is in advance. Tour the yarn spinning mill. We explain each phase of the operation and end the tour at our sales barn. The cost of the tour is $4.00 per person, with children 2 and under free. These tours are ideal not only for adults and children, but also senior citizen and other charter bus groups.

Cestari, Ltd. hosts two major events each year:

Our Wool Fair, which is held in the spring, is a celebration of sheep, wool and things warm and cuddly. There are sheep shearing demonstrations, hand carding, natural dyeing, spinning and knitting of our wool together with our products and other quality crafts. There are various food vendors, horse and pony rides and tractor-driven hay rides and plenty of activities for children. Admission to the fair is free. Crafters are welcome. Contact us for information on being a vendor at 540-337-7282.

This year we will have in addition to our regular activities, the combined draft horse demonstrations of plowing and disking of some of our fields--see how these wonderful trained animals work as a team with their master.

What a fascinating weekend this is at the Cestari Sheep and Land Co. Wool Fair 2008. This remarkable operation is only one of a few like it in America where wool is grown (on sheep of course), shorn, and manufactured into skeins of yarn, sweaters, socks and a myriad of other products all at one place. It is a unique look at a process unlike any you have ever seen.

The festival is full of fun things to do for a whole family or a couple. Musical hay bales, Dye your own piece of wool, knitting lessons, a state wide clogger competitions, fashion show and so much more. Most activities are free but a few are not and your package gets you a free pass to those activities also.

Your package includes:

  • One or two nights stay depending which package you choose
  • Dinner for two in the restaurant at The Buckhorn Inn on Saturday night
